Quote of the Day

"Lesbianism is so rampant in some of the schools in southeast Oklahoma that they'll only let one girl go to the bathroom. Now think about it. Think about that issue. How is it that that's happened to us?"
-- Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), as quoted by Jason Linkins in "Tom Coburn Attempts To Get Gay Community To Join Him In Opposing Health Care Reform" in HuffPo. Linkins goes on to mention Mr. Coburn's extreme anti-civil rights history vis a vis "The Gay," and how that makes him an odd choice in trying to rustle up gay support for health care obstruction.

Talk about "rough trade". Nyuck, nyuck. (Speaking of which, take note of the "Rough Trader" poster in Peter Jackson's King Kong remake. I was going to include a link, but couldn't find a pic. Can you supply me with one, O Mine Readership?)

A bit more on Mr. Coburn's "rampant lesbianism" tirade here -- also via the above Linkins article. Other Oklahoman government officials quoted as saying they don't know what the h*ll Coburn is on about.
