Nothing Too Vile for Conservatives to Espouse

Differently-abled comedian Pat Robertson says Matthew Shepard hate crime bill targets Christians. He's half-right -- it targets Christians who whale -- I can use that as a verb, right? Whale? -- whale on gays.

"Robertson, who has a long history of preaching vitriolic homophobia, declared earlier this year that gay marriage would lead to a “legalization of polygamy, bestiality, child molestation and pedophilia.”"

Come on, polygamy. That said, I don't really see the straight line between homosexuality and the other stuff. The difference is with polygamy and homosexuality, there's (the assumption of) adult informed consent. Kids and beasts, not so much.

The issue, I think, lies with conservatives' problem with the term "consent," because it implies individual freedom apart from some central authority. They just can't seem to handle people having the freedom to make up their own minds about stuff. The ground shakes; the future becomes hazy; weak knees tremble -- and some of them might even have to face their own longings out from under the gauze of a societal no-no-no.

Also too, he left out "necrophilia". (Whatta buncha maroons.)

Anyways, Robertson and his like-minded jackoff friends will have to find alternatives on which to whale. Is beating your wife to death still legal anywheres convenient? Otherwise, I'm afraid somebody's gonna need a plane ticket sometime soon.
