Charting your 0>w/hole>1

Apparently I'm a bit left of the Dalai Lama. Take the test if you feel like it.

Personally, I think some of the questions weren't constructed quite a-right.

I was led to the site via the wingnuts over at Pajamas Media -- seriously, are people still throwing terms like "Marxist" around? Didn't people stop yammering about that in, like, the 50's? I mean, I know the McCain folks were chucking it around, and their Nuremberg-esque audiences were parroting it back at them, but I thought that was because, well...

...actually, I couldn't understand it then, either. a) America is already socialist, to a degree. Social Security, Medicare.... b) The current economic crisis was caused in part by Republicans -- specifically, McCain's erstwhile economic advisor Phil "America is a nation of whiners" Gramm -- removing some of the (socialist) market oversight safeguards put in place during FDR's admin. c) Do you really need a "c"?

Socialism just Ain't. That. Bad. In fact, quite a lot of the time, it's good. (I'm going by E's opinion on the "it's good" link, and since she lives in the place...) Fer crying out loud, Christianity is basically socialist, oui? What sayest thou to that, o ye camels-through-the-needles-eye red-staters, you?

Let the conflation of socialism with atheism and totalitarianism begin.
